Clay Boats: a 2 day hand-building workshop (includes both Saturday and Sunday)
We are excited to have Kim Murton come back and lead us in another amazing workshop, this time making unique boat sculptures! Our first day we will learn how to use clay slabs to build a hollow form in the shape of a boat. Pattern pieces will be provided in a few different sizes. Students will cut out and assemble pieces, learning important hand building skills, using the slab technique. We will also make figurines and other cargo to place in the boats.
The second day we will paint and decorate our pieces using colored slips with lots of inspiration and ideas.
Saturday, March 14th 1-4pm AND
Sunday March 15th 1-4pm
Please wear clothes you don’t mind getting messy
Pieces will be fired and clear glazed by the studio and ready for pick up in 2-3 weeks
Beginner friendly. Great for all levels of experience
